The collection of songs on this release are from a tape a friend of mine dug up on a construction site in 2016 when I was living in Austin Texas. The tape was encrusted in dirt, so I cleaned it up and found something strange... A cassette of a man reading surreal poetry and playing some haunting music on the piano ala Tom Waits or Nick Drake... I had believed to have had lost this tape after taking samples for a performance in 2017, but after a recent move I found it again.
The songs themselves are eerie and depressing, mostly about loss which I believe may have been personal to the singer. I did my best to archive the songs in the best quality i could, though it is still in poor condition due to the lack of technological resources I have. If anyone happens to find the man who sings on it I would love to be put in contact with him! Hope those listening can come together and find this man. Until then enjoy ~ Zona Zanjeros~
